Motor mount help !!!!!

1811 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  04lariatfx4crewcab
I have the single mounts from GOS there are 4 bolts that bolt the mounts to the block. The block has 6 bolts to chose from I could use the 4 bolts toward the rear or use the four towards the front I chose the ones closer to the rear because my turbo oil return would not clear if I used the foreward holes. but when I put the motor in it leans forward really bad. I do not have the tranny attached to it so that would help a lot. I was just wondering is this right. also If i use the front 4 bolts it would give me more room between the fan and the radiator wich there is 0 room now.

Thanks.

OK, I moved the mounts to the front 4 holes it sits father back now it is about 2" away from the fire wall. getting the last vave cover off is a PITA I will have to take #5 valve cover off to get #6 out of there. now I need to get a new drain for my turbo. Is there a flexable one? I have a medium duty exhaust manifold so it puts my turbo a bit lower than normal. and I will have to drain it into the rear knock out and plug the front one.
Steven,

Sorry I hadn't been on in a while and missed this. Yes you use the forward position holes with our single mounts. The Quad mounts use all 6 holes. You will probably want to run either a 2nd gen manifold flipped upside-down, or use a CR manifold.

Thanks Steel.

I can see why you would want to use the Quads now, it will help keep the motor level. But these singles should work for me for the time being.

Thanks for all of your help.
