On my 1st tank avg was 12.06, 2nd was 12.38 both hand calculated. On the overhead I have seen 19.5 while on the Interstate at 80mph. At 60 it has shown 21. Great #'s but the average just isn't there, although I have had some extended idle times.:sofa
The very first tank of fuel in mine yielded 17.8 mpg on a interstate trip and was still during warm fall weather. Winter fuel and cold temps with shorter trips were averaging 15.6 mpg but recently it's popped up to 16-16.5 for the shorter trips. Mileage just crossed 9000 miles. These are all calculated figures - not from the overhead, but will say the overhead has been a good indicator of the economy just that is seems to read about 1 mpg too high.
From time to time I'll reset the mpg on the overhead just to get a snapshot of how it is doing on longer trips. In the last month the overhead has been up to 25 mpg a couple times which it never did at first and seems to go along with the engine starting to break in.
My brother owns an 06 with a 5.9 and 3.73 gears and is getting 19-20 but his was acting just like my 6.7 with low odometer miles. His 5.9 started climbing from 16 to 19 around 12000-15000 miles.
I am getting about 16-17 pretty consistently- however, it drops to about 14-15 around town. Thankfully, I have never had the truck go into regen, but I drive about 25 freeway miles to work. I bought the truck in Idaho and drove down to Los Angeles and got about seventeen on the trip- hope it will get better. Truck has 10k on it now- 4x4 6.7 longbed, 6speed manual.
07 longbed quad slt 6 spd manual 3.73 anti spin. First tank about all hiway 16 overhead read hi 18 and low 19's. around town 13. truck sucks, engine light issues, change oil, and much worse mileage as it has 12000 now. have 97 5 spd 3.55 rear no ac 316k gets 22 highway and 19 around town. 17 towing a 7000lb trailer around town. 89 3 spd auto 4.10 rear 300k plus speedo broke in 02 with 235k on 3rd tranny, 14 hiway- town combo
Hi, new here, the 08 is 10mpg plowing snow,13 town, 14 hiway at 75-80,17 @65 +-, the 07 12-13 all the time town and hiway, it's a mobile welding truck so it has about 1.5 ton on it. the 05 avg18, 14 with 12K behind it. no difference on the 08 with the Jake on or off
I have been getting 14.9-18.2 on various driving situations.
I need to take it on a road trip up north to see what it will get for real
My truck is an 08 quad cab long box 4x4 with 3:42 gears in it si it should do around 19+ at 65mpg? It also has the 6 speed manual tranny.:dodge
