Since i get questions ocassionally about the switches that i have
installed in my truck i thought id create a thread w/ the information
as a reference ->

the switches are "CARLING" switches, available from Shane L.

the switches are NOT cheap, but they are TOP NOTCH HIGH QUALITY
& VERY VERY DURABLE (i have two switches that have probably been
cycled on and off at least 100 times).

My switches have been in use since early feb. 2006

After an exhaustive search i could find nothing <cheaper> that looked
as good & that had labeling appropriate for a my truck or car.

The closest i could find (in style and quality) were available at
BOAT US & marine stores...and they were nearly $30 dollars for EACH
switch !

In the next post is UPDATED info & Pricing on the switches which
includes several photos of installations (in different brand trucks)
the photos also so the all the labeling / options that Shane sells.

Again these switches are TOP QUALITY / HEAVY DUTY !

Don, you have any more pics of the install and what all did you order to get it set up like you have it?

Garrett
no more photos of my install...but its pretty simple...cut the hole to
fit...

I built my switch set (CUSTOM Size) using these bracket pieces...you
just buy the correct number of "middle" and "end" pieces -

Shane offers some "pre-built" (one piece) brackets in 1, 3 or 6
switch blanks, if you dont want to build your own.

Shane even offers "blanks" to fill holes where you may not YET have
a switch...assuming your smart and are planning ahead (like i SHOULD
have done).

THE LASER labeled ACTUATORS are purched separately (one per switch)

and then the type of SWITCH (to fill the braket) is purchased,
on/off, on/off/on or momentary - DPDT or SPST

I wired mine simular to this (tieing the grounds together as well as the "illumination")

my suggestion...buy the modular switch brackets...that way you can expand
(or shrink) it as needed later !

I bought extras (spares) just in case...and i just bought some MORE from
Shane last week....

when you place your order tell 'em DON (bushpilot) from TDG sent you !

depends on the switch you buy...not all are back lit and not all have "on" indicators.
the switches that are lit use a red & green LED.

the GREEN LED is illuminated when the parking lights are on, the RED LED is illuminated
when the switch it turned on, theyre not blinding bright...perfectly illuminated id say.
