Guys,

With the most recent changes to the operating system of our Phalanx Console, I'm looking to get some customer input from both current and potential users of the Phalanx for the 6.0. You can read a bit more about the way the new console functions with the 6.4L here; the 6.0L operation will be the same. http://www.thedieselgarage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85632

We are planning to implement a comprehensive database of pre-loaded tunes that will not only work on the full selection of stock trucks, but will also contain preliminary tunes that will work on other modifications, such as EGR deletes, aftermarket VGT and Non-VGT turbochargers, injectors, ect. Obviously these files will not be precisely written in exactly the same manner as a full custom file, however will help tremendously to bridge the gap and provide an option that will work properly with many of the available hardware modifications on the market without investing time in constant "tweaking" to a file. These will still be a FULL engine and trans file, matched to your strategy, not a partial file like you would get with a normal off-the-shelf device. Because of the infinite memory available with different size SD cards, we build a seperate file for each HP level and each strategy code- the tuner simply looks up your strategy, matches the associated files in the database and shows what is available for that strategy.

I'm basically looking for input as to what kind of mods you guys would like to see these files available for in the database- such as the VGT-SS and VGT-HO style upgraded turbochargers, non-vgt turbos such as the S300 and Aurora setups, and various assortments of the more common injector sizes (Stage 1/150mm, Stage 2/175, Stage 3/200/225mm, ect) and files for the Suncoast and ATS transmissions.

Once these files are completed, tested, and added to the database, all of our 6.0 tuners will come pre-loaded with a full set for each different strategy level for any mods we add- free of charge.

Feel free to throw any ideas at me.

I love the idea... just dont forgot about us manual guys... I am running 190cc and the stock turbo and haven't had a tune in for the last 6 months just because of all the SCT changes and now having to buy new tunes cause I lost all mine on the update...

So the tune would work great no matter what you had done to the truck if you selected the correct file and if are wanting that extra little bit THEN you would have to get the extra little tweaking??

Manuals will be included. It will be a fully comprehensive database once finished.

Correct. It would be a solid, drivable base file with most of the common features (shift points and pressures adjusted accordingly). Obviously custom tuning would still be desired if you are wanting to squeeze every ounce out of the truck; these would geared more toward everday use. They will also include matching FICM files for each strategy, HP level, and injector nozzle size.

Current "mods" on our list- we will be adding based on what kind of demand we are seeing for a given mod.

EGR Delete
VGT Turbocharger Upgrades (such as Elite VGT-SS, VGT-HO, and other similar 62-68mm VGT turbos)
Non-VGT Turbos (S300, S400, Garrett T3 and T4, Turbonetics - most builds from 58mm to 76mm)
Injectors (of pretty much any typical sizing, from 150mm/Stage 1 to 250/275mm/Stage V from River City, Elite, and Full Force Diesel)
Suncoast Transmission (1600, 2000, and 2500 stall)

I like the idea. I want to run your programmer once I get a little more money.

One thing. Don't forget about the excursions.

We likely will, but at this point I have no details. I'm hoping to have this work finished by the end of the year, but between the 6.4L, development on the EcoBoost tuning, and already starting putting together files on the 6.7L Powerstroke myself and Scott are strung a bit thin:bang

Between all of the strategies and possible hardware configurations, we have ALOT of testing to do.

I'm guessing they will have a set of tunes similar to the archive and tweak them to your liking at an aditional cost. I've heard of some guys running the hybrid race that matt tweaked for upgraded turbos and sticks that were pretty nice.

Matt

Don't forget us guys up in Canada. A lot of us use or will use a NADP heavy hauler transmission. Add that to your list.

From what I understood the beta fleet has already been out for over a year. I haven't heard though about any progress in the ficm portion.

what's the beta fleet? If what you're talkin about are the tunes that matt posted for free, that's not what i meant. I'm not talkin about SCT tunes cause he doesn't do SCT stuff anymore. I meant real custom tunes and FICM tuning for injectors and turbo's on a phalanx like he has for the 6.4's.
