HEY IM BOUT PULL MY HAIR OUT REBUILT THIS ENGINE (INFRAME) NEW MAIN AND ROD BEARING PISTONS AND LINERS COMPLETE HEAD JOB NEW OIL PUMP, BYPASS VALVE AND, NEW OIL PRESSURE REGULATOR .

MY PROBLEM IS AT COLD START UP IVE GOT 60 PSI OIL PRESSURE AT IDLE
WARMED UP 190 DEG IT DROPS TO 19-20 PSI AT IDLE
U REV IT UP AND IT GOES TO 45 PSI I would think the idle pressure would be better than that. IM AT A LOSS I JUST CANT FIGURE THIS OUT IVE REPLACED THE ABOVE MENTIONED PARTS AND IT MADE ABSOLUTLY NO DIFFERENCE IN THE PRESSURE COLD OR HOT

PLEASE HELP IM BOUT GO CRAZY

I think there is a regulator valve that allows the oil to bypass the filter on cold starts to avoid high oil pressure. I’ve read that can get stuck open and cause an oil pressure drop, but the specs you have are actually with in the specs here’s a screenshot of the oil pressure specs from the IH service manual



Oil pressure at operating temp at idle is 15 minimum and 40-70 at speed.
