yes I know I'm opening a CAN O WORMS but the new to me duelly is going to eat me alive on fuel. I believe it has 4:10 rear gears I really like my srw which has 3:73 rear gears but the duelly is going to become my primary camper tugger a 37' 5er so do I go with a gear venders unit or the trouble of changing out the gears? the srw runs 1800 rpm @ 70 with 3:73s duelly runs 2400 rpm @ 70 give or take a little.

Your speedo is off, or you're running much larger tires with the 3.73s... With the stock tire size, 70 MPH puts you at 2000 RPMs. It sounds like you'll be towing a HUGE trailer, so I'd leave the 4.10s in the dually. I wouldn't go with the Gear Vendors overdrive, Aussie Dave put one in his truck for towing and blew it up, cause apparently they're not designed for the extra towing weight.
