I have a 2001 ram, I know this truck was very competetive before, but I believe most the upgrades have been taken off, I know it has an ATS manifold, I believe an ATS head, and boost fooler, the turbo on this trick is VERY LOUD, but appears to be a stock holset. My question is if anybody knows this truck, what it had on it, or something I could do to affordably get some power out of it and make it competetive in some local pulls

Sorry about my spelling:damnit

If anybody knows this truck? Could be one of a million, there are lots of bombed trucks out there. A bigger list of mods and some pics can help to identify a truck. Doesn't sound like there is that much done to it right now. Which means a lot can still be done to get some more power out of it. What kind of power are you looking for? And if you're going to hook to a sled, upgrade the drive train.

The profile pic is something different. Go to User CP and click on Edit Avatar and upload your pic there. The profile pic is when you click on somebodys name and go to their profile it has that pic there.

Anyhow the thing has an ATS head Boost fooler, 5" exhaust, bigger injectors (not sure what size) FASS Pump, Front and rear lockers, I have set of groundhawgs of of my chevy gasser, ATS stage 3 tranny, ATS torque converter and flywheel. NEED A GOOD CHIP AND GUAGE SET

That truck doesn't look familiar So i can't say what it might have done. Most boxes incorpoate a boost fooler, so the only reason to buy just a boost fooler is for the oversized injectors without a box. So I'm guessing just that, it probably didn't have a box on it. Get some gauges see what temps you are running and how much boost and that may provide a little insight as to how much fuel you have. Also make sure it is the stock turbo, it will say what turbo it is on the tag on the comp housing.

Personally I would throw on an edge Comp or a juice w/Attitude (which incorporates all the gauges). Also if you want any kind of decent power get rid of that turbo if its a stocker. Anything is better than that HY even an HX35 eould be better.

Turbo

Well I checke the plate, guess what its missing. Actually it may ring a bell to some people, this truck belonged to Brad Ingram's father-in-law, When i talked to brad he said it was a holset turbo, but not the original

Could be an hx40. If you could get a picture of the ex. housing that might help to identify it. The 40 has a 4inch outlet and is connected to the exhaust with a v-band clamp. The hx35 has an elbow coming off the exhaust housing and is bolted to the down pipe.
It could also be larger, but without a box and big injectors it would have really slow spool up. I'm still guessing its an Hx35, you would have a lot of smoke down low and I mean a lot of smoke down low if you had a 40 on there, and it wouldn't be safe to run without gauges.

Yeah, if they are oversized they are probably small then something like an RV275 which is a great injector and by itself will improve throttle response, milage and a slight gain in power, all without much smoke. Actually if i turn my box off my truck won't smoke and I have those injectors. With anything larger you would get a bit of smoke, and with a larger turbo, and injectors that small it would take forever to spool up and suck to drive.

What is your budget for modding, and how much power do you want, it sounds like you have a good platform to start from.

The edge is a good way to go, If you get the juice with attitude, you get the gauges and some really cool features for not a whole lot extra cost. It will run ya about 900 with a hot unlock code, or 800 without the code. You can always call edge and get the code later to though. The Edge comp cost 630 and the hot version is $100 more, which you can upgrade to later, but you have to send it back to edge. And the comp doesn't include all the gauges like the Juice w/A.

Thats a good start for ya, and should make your truck pretty fun to play with, and down the road more is always possible too.
