Well I hav ebeen contemplating getting nitrous for awhile now and after seeing all these nasty times with the 310 tune from Spartan and the fact I won over a grand at the casino today I thought I would go ahead and get a kit... A few questions though...

Which brand of kit (Zex, NX, ect...)?
Which type (single vs. dual)?
How big of a jet? (I have the 250 now but when the 310 comes out I will have that)
and exactly which kit do you have and your opinions, experiences, and times would be great!

Thanks guys!:happymugs

Zex are good quality, priced fair, and easy to install...I can tell you that.

TOP DOG SUPER DUPER guys with more money and a big ego usually run NX, or NOS.

So Pahrump you would suggest a Zex Dual Stage or Single Stage?

And Colton have you had any experience with NOS kits?

Matt has the ZEX dual stage....the single stage will do what you need/want to do. But the dual setup is not much more, and theres 2 bottles...etc...

Cause if you start spraying that .88 jet at the track, you will empty a bottle QUICK. I think I can get 3-4 passes out of one bottle.

I will say that if you add ANYTHING, IMO a bottle warmer and a gauge is the best thing to add over a purge or any other fancy stuff.....bottle pressure is key to making good passes.

Yup agreed.

the only thing that i know different is that aaron has been running the single nx stacker4 set up on his truck because it has a bigger solenoid to flow more nitrous, as much as a dual kit i guess, but two bottles never hurts bottle warmer is your best friend and a guage as well. and yes zex kits are nice and the price is right my buddy has one on his 12v and it works great.

you can use pretty much anything that is a "dry" nitrous set up. If you go right to zex website and click on the diesel section you can look at the options, same thing with NX website, most of the prices on the nitrous dealers websites are about the same as you can purchase, i dont think dealers get much of a discount on them.

Ok so do the hp ratings they give matter? Is that just the jets included? Or bigger selinoid? I just want a kit I can use now but not grow out of once the 310 comes and if I decide to upgrade injectors or turbos... Thanks for help guys

The horse power ratings dont really matter, the nozzles are what controll how much nitrous goes into the engine, and every engine acts differently, i belive you want a .080 nozzle but im not sure how you want to set up a dual stage kit to be honest,

As far as growing into and all that, if you get a dual kit, your going to flow plenty of nitrous, because your combining both nozzles into the occasion, so i think on a dual set up your running about half size of a single so if you want a .080 you want to run maybe a .060 to start and then shoot .030 on top later, correct me if im wrong but this is what i have gathered so far.

Bottles are bottles, if you need to upgrade nozzles solenoids, lines you can do that later, bottles and solenoids are the most expensive parts of it.

The first kit is a single stage 1 bottle 1 selenoid one line ect

the second is a dual stage, 2 bottles to solenoids, 2 lines 2 nozzles ect

The single stage will work, its less expensive and it probably flows plenty of nitrous, but the more you spray off the line the more likley to spin, hop ect, so if you run the second set up you can run a lower spray off the line, then kick in the second stage when traction will allow it for maximum fuel burn.

The problem with single stages is you sacrifice one way or the other, either you have to spray less to get traction, but your not getting the full effect of buring all the fuel completly, or you can use a bigger shot but you have to spray it later down the track, loss of initial excelleration.

I can get the 1st one (Zex Pro Street Diesel #82079) for $452.50 shipped or the 2nd one (Zex Race Diesel #82044) for $725.80

So which one is best bang for buck?

definatly the second because your getting two bottles and solenoids for about 200 bucks less then buying two single stage set ups.

single stage will be easier to set up initially

dual stage will be harder to get set up correctly but will yield better track times once it is set up correctly.

THe ONLY thing i would want to know before you ordered is the solenoid size of the single stage and on the dual stage. Which none of thoughs sites show you so you might want to call and find out.
