What year engines will interchange? I have a 1994 Powerstroke that is really good, today I found a 2001 Crew Cab Dually that needs motor work. Thought if it would work I'd buy the truck & swap motors. Its a really good deal on the truck if have the stuff to fix it with:sly:

You want to swap a 94 Powerstroke into a 2001 Chevy?

What did I miss?? :poke:

The swap would work, but the newer SD engines have some things the OBS trucks don't. Would you be swapping straight up or doing some mods at the same time? Like turbo, injectors, HPOP, fuel system??

circle, no prob.
If the basic long block is the same, I can use everything from the 2001, turbo, HPOP manifolds etc. I would just hate to buy the truck & then the motor no be adaptable into the newer one. Probably no mods, I would just like to sell the motor & haven't yet, figured maybe I could sell the truck if it was running??
