I replaced the factory steel diff. cover with the aluminum cover from ford this weekend and now my gauge is not working. The old cover was grounded and all i did was un hook the wires to the sending unit and the ground wire. Does the aluminum not make a ground contact?
Has anyone had this problem before?

Aluminum doesn't make a good ground. Where do you have it grounded at? If you have it grounded between the sending unit and the cover then you need to move it to one of the bolts that holds the cover on. This should make it work.

Good Luck

They are using a temperature gauge to monitor the temp of the diff fluid. Just like a trans temp gauge.
