Does anyone know if my SCT Livewire Pyrometer for the EGT Gauge will work with a GlowShift Gauge? I do not want to use the gauge feature of the Livewire.

Thanks

The GlowShift should come with it's own probe.

This does not pertain to this thread but Sickstroke, I was wondering what kind of leveling kit you had on your 03? I have an add-a-leaf but it is still not level. Wondering if I should just add another one or take the one out and put a mini leaf pack in there or what?

I sent him a PM as to not hijack your thread. But why do you want to use the Livewire probe when the GS gauge comes with it's own?

I'm pretty sure you wont be able to use it.

Well, I did not mean to get into this, but I have decided that I do not like the Livewire monitoring and do not want to use the gauges.

It's too hard to read the gauge labels. The fonts are too small, the contrast is inadequate (granted I have a 60 yr old set of eyeballs!).

It does not automatically power down with the key off. You have to manually turn it off.

If you are monitoring gauges and turn off the engine, when re-starting you have to manually re-start the Livewire monitoring.

You cannot program the "default" order or the name of the gauges. You can somewhat change the order of the gauges but must do so every time you start the engine. If you want to change your gauge configuration file, you have to use your computer to create a new one. You cannot modify the existing one.

Before I bought it, SCT support told me it would monitor boost in my truck, Now that I own it, they cannot tell me how to set it up to monitor boost.

SCT's documentation for both the Livewire and LiveLink, the software, is the PITS! There are NO documentation or help files whatsoever for the software.

However, I only paid $489 for it including the EGT probe, pedestal mount, shipping, and tax. I can still return it if I want to, but since I got such a good deal, if I can use the EGT probe with another gauge, I might just keep it and use it as a tuner only. If I return it, I would buy the SCT SF3 for $389 AND a pyrometer for about $200. I like the tuner part of the Livewire, but since the EGT probe was thrown in for free, I cannot return it only.

Honestly, the Livewire is outdated. Many people refuse or regret buying it because of those exact problems you listed.

I'd return it and get your money back! I'd go with an SCT X2 or X3, along with an Edge Insight for gauges! :thumbsup

I'd reccomend buying a used X2 (cheapest route) and purchasing some Innovative custom tunes for it. :thumbsup

I did the same thing and my SCT with custom tunes cost me $230 total, including custom tunes. You could also find a used Insight on some of the forums, I've gotten them as cheap as $120 with the EGT probe. And it is miles above the Livewire.

I was trying to be nice.....but the truth is the Livewire su**s. I am going to return it and buy an EGT, Fuel Pressure, and Boost set. With them and my SG II I will have all the data I can comprehend!

I agree. Except I would swap the trans temp for a 100 PSI Elcetrical Fuel Pressure gauge, as the SG II already monitors trans temps, and fuel pressure is much more important.

does the insight display fuel press? and ect and eot? im looking at one to add to my sf3
I bought an Insight and returned it. It is a piece of unfriendly junk. I can give you at least 6 reasons on why not to buy it.

I am so so sorry. I did NOT mean to badmouth the Insight. I meant to say Livewire. Guess I had a brain fart.
