It has been asked if we could bring back the Smokin Breakfast. Ryan and any new guys, What we did was have a gathering for breakfast Saturday morning before the dyno got cranking. We had several people sign up and make a breakfast item and make enough to share with the crowd. It worked out great. Would this be acheivable at the track? We have 2 large tents, 2 6 ft buffet tables and all we need is power for appliances. Everyone can bring a chair or two.

What say you....

its a good idea. we can put the tents up by the trophy shack. we have done a small version of this sometimes before our pulls when we are setting the track up.

Are you talking about providing enough food for just the Smokin Committee or enough for all the participants also?

Ryan

It was more for TDG Admim, Members, Vendors, Smokin set up commitee and their guests. Of course all Liberty staff members and familes will be expected to eat with us. :rock

Kinda like an appreciation Breakfast and a time to chat with TDG family members.

Like Wayne said, its a large crowd of us.

In the past it was for everyone, but it was done so early that the only ones that were in attendance was the "core" group. Still 25-35 people or so. Ray was pretty involved with it, if IIRC, and could shed more light as well.
I was supposed to direct traffic in Gatlinburg and was the first one really up & movin' that morning - MUCH to my chagrin. I did get a harrowing ride in Henry's truck, though.

If the Friday night pre-party is tame enough, then I'll help with whatever. Besides, I think I'm bringing my own designated driver this time. My 16 yr old son wants to photograph.

Diane had a list of what we needed to gather in TN. Any chance we have access to those old posts?

I suggest we keep it to the 25-50 or so that will inevitably show up on a GA Saturday mornin' in the country.

Any more then 50 I will need to hire the Dinner Impossible guy from FoodNetwork to help out... :poke

I suggest we keep it to TDG members, Admin, Mods, Vendors, Smokin Commitee, Liberty guys and gals and all their families. I think it will tally up to close to 50 people when it is all said and done. I will keep the pancakes flippin nontheless.

Russ started the Smokin' breakfast and then I took it over for him for the next two years after that. The old post are hopefully still on here in the events section. If you need any help I can elaborate on what I did.

What I will do is when we decided yes we are doing this, I'll start thread and see how many are interested in helping. I want to limit how many items, but just do a larger quantity of each. I'll figure up how many of each item we think we will need once we have a final list of what we are having. Those who don't want to cook or bring food we will need plates, cups, eating utensil's, tables, foil bins for food and napkins. Electric skillets and grills will be great if anyone has extras.

Here's a starter list.

Eggs
Bacon
Sausage
Biscuts
Pancakes
gravy
Juice
Milk
Donuts or pastries
Coffee(just the grounds and 2 gallons of water)

Hopefully it will be very busy. I'll be making a drive back up to Hoschton to get our kids early Saturday morning. They have testing on Friday they can't miss. I'll be back around 10am or so, it will be lunch by then. :D
