So what can you do to these 160hp/400tq Cummins diesel for power adders ?

I'm looking for 200-250hp/450-550tq, it'll be backed up by a 5 or 6spd manual transmission with 4.10/4.11 gears, and 225/70R19.5F M/T tires. . .

225/70R19.5 M/T's = 33" x 9" on 19.5" rim.

The battle plan:
Buy a 90-93 Dodge D350 4x4 dually, Cummins turbo diesel, manual trans.
then i want to add the 19.5 wheels n tires and adjust the power till tows how i'd like it too, then i want to remove the Dodge body, and install a 63'-88' Jeep J/10-J30 The full sized pickup truck cab n diamond plate flat bed, Duel stack's n 19.5 Radial Mud terrains mounted on polished Alcoa 19.5 dually wheels.

i believe fuel pin, governor, timing, get some bigger injectors. depending on turbo you might want to get a newer 12 or 14cm wastegated housing and drill out the wastegate. of coarse, intake and exhaust mods must be done.

the getrag should be able to handle the power. you arent going crazy with it. might just need a better clutch for towing.

You think it'll run down the road respectably ? with 200-250hp n 450-550tq, 5spd-OD, 4.10's and 33" x 9" 12ply F tires ?

Just looking for a stronger truck then the old 6.5er its replacing :woot:

So i need more then 150-175hp but i don't need a 400-600hp either.

i want to have all my power from 0-70mph, from 72mph+ it can start fading away, I want some good steady pulling power.

cruise 68-72mph on the highway, yet be able to grunt 12-15k-lb's up a long steep grade 65mph, so i'm thinking 225hp n 500tq should be plenty ? ? ?

you're probably going to need more than 225/500 to move 15k up a large grade at 65mph. id aim for 300/650 which isnt too hard.

what gearing are you using to get you to 66mph at 2000rpm?

i have 4.10s and 33s on my dodge and check out my speed per rpm.

as for your question about what it will cost to make the power? let me see if i can break it down for you real quick.

3200rpm governor spring- $20
fuel pin- $200
POD injectors- $440
find a 12cm wastegated housing and that should be pretty cheap

that should easily get you to 300hp.

check out this setup, it is what i listed minus the injectors.
