I talked to a dealer the other day and he told me that a SO can be installed on a HO truck. I know the SO can produce more power, but can anyone tell me if this is true or false.

I believe that they have different timing or something like that, and that it won't work that well. You could always install an HRVP44 on it. What are you looking to get out of it, just added power?

There are permitting factors, Bluechip is trying to sell you a product. They can be swapped both ways. However putting an S.O. pump on a truck without a crank position sensor will not benefit. If the S.O. pump swap does not work you can always have the ECM reflashed.
