I have read alot on here about the Spartan Tuner and delete. Most people are saying how great they are and how well they work. Is there anybody out there that has had a bad experience with one. I do want to get one but the warranty issue is my only problem. If something happens to the truck and has to back to Ford I have to take the tunes out and reinstall DPF. That is OK if I am around home, what do you do if you are out of state and break down and has to go to Ford. Any help would be great.

I know it doesn't compare but like forcefed does, i carry the cat in my toolbox for my 06 for worst case scenarios such as that.

I always carry my dpf when I travel. Just not worth the headache if your away from home and have problems. If you have to go to a dealer that's not mod friendly you better make sure your dpf is installed. It's not worth the risk of voiding your warranty......

I stress getting a stock with no regen tune just for going to the dealer to all our customers.
Can you please explain the rationale behind this? Stock with DPF delete or 275 with DPF delete is still DPF Delete. As long as no one's looking under the truck, wouldn't it just be better to load the stock tune, for the trip to the shop? Worse case has the truck going into constant regen?

Maybe someone can 'splain this to me better?

If I didn't know the dealer, or know if they were ok with the DPF being removed there would be no way I would take it in for service. There is just too much to loose. Just not worth the risk of loosing you warranty for something that can be reinstalled in a short amount of time. Don't give them a reason to void your warranty!!!

I agree with Mick. There appears to be little value to a stock tune with DPF delete, when you're dealing with a dealership. I will amend what I said above. The worse thing that can happen is they DO look under your truck, and now you may be screwed. Just put the DPF back on, reload the stock tune, go to the dealership in peace.

Then you'll appreciate the DPF delete all over again.

I'm with Mick. I carry my dpf with me everywhere I go. I just have it mounted on the front hood like the cowboys do with the bull horns.:happymugs

Totally agree with mick....Keep your Stock dpf in hand on long trips out of town, JUST IN CASE!

I always reccomend returning the truck back to full stock before any dealer visits. Some dealers will work with you on minor changes made, but most will not even touch the vehicle and can void your warranty with FORD.

I will be using both SPARTAN and the SCT back and forth on my newly arriving 09.

I have a relationship with the local dealer and we flash the trucks to the stock with no regen when they go in for service work.

a bit off topic. but it would be nice to start a dealer directory for mod friendly service.
