So as I understand it the speed control deactivation switch which I think is on the master cylinder can leak internally, overheat, and burn. From what i've read all ford is doing is checking the switch, replacing if bad, and putting a fuseable link inline with it? I've also been reading that guys are just unplugging them to save a trip to ford. Would just unplugging them eliminate the chance of a fire?

I just took mine to ford last year for it. Only took them a few minutes.
