I was asked by a friend that just straight piped his power stroke if it will hurt anything. so thats why I'm asking. Do you need any back pressure on a diesel. If not why am I running a 5'' with a muffler:shrug: Should I ditch the muffler is it safe to do tell me
5inch straight pipes sound really nice. I've heard that unless you're pushing a bit of fuel that 5inch is too excessive and will actually hurt performance, but probably not too much. I say go for it, just keep your muffler incase you don't like it. In many states, the turbo counts as a muffler for legal purposes as well.

I know a lot of people that run straight piped...they are a bit noisy but they do sound good...in relation to your back pressure question, the turbo will create enough back pressure for the engine... I would ditch the muffler and enjoy!:woot:
