Hey all. I've never played with crossover steering before, and frankly, don't know anybody personally that has. I have a 78 Dana 60 front axle and ordered the high steer arm from Blue Torch Fabworks and tried to mount it tonight. The problem I'm running into is that king pin spring is too tall and I can't get the cap for the high steer arm bolted down. Is this a common problem? Are you suppose to tighten the four studs to progressively collapse the spring?

I know, I know, let the NOOBIE flames begin!

Sounds right to me. The bolts should clamp it down, thats what keeps the king pin seated IIRC.
