I was just talking with my cousin who used to have an 03 7.3l SD. He said he bought a superchip(the lowest costing one) that had tow/econo/high performance settings.(3 in all)

He said that with it, he was getting over 20 on the highway and 17 in town. He also said that he has a friend that put one in their Excursion and they were getting 25 on the hwy and 18-20 in town.

Of course this sounds pretty inviting to me. I would love to get that kind of mileage.

Anyone have one like this, or know anything about it?

He most likely has the 1705 tri-tune. If he is reading from the overhead display...its hosed up. The loaded tune messes with the way the mpg are calculated. He needs to hand calculate his mileage to be accurate...and I'm willing to bet your paycheck :hehe: that it won't be that high in the end.

I'm sure you would love to have my paycheck!
But no bets. C'mon, you know I'm a newbie!

I just talked to him about the size of the tank. He said he had a 26 gallon tank and was getting 500 miles or more out of a tank. Seems pretty good.

He did not say anything about the lie-o-meter.

I have the cortex programmer in my 6.0 and i'm on 40's. I was doing 9-10 mpg's with my lead foot and with the AirAid Intake, RBP Turbo Back exhaust and the Superchips Cortex on it, I am now doing 13-14 mpg's. The programmer does help, but you need other stuff to get full benefit (this is on performance mode, so eco mode would be a lot better)

Where and how much is this chip Blue???? The SCMT?????

I can handle that kind of mpg. Right now by hand calculating with a bone stock truck, with only using 2 cycle oil in the fuel tank, I am getting 14-15. So with the chip and some DIY intake stuff, I will probably be doing better than I expected!

I've got the 1705 tuner and it's set at the 60 hp and w/ the 1oz. syn oil and 4oz. of acetone per ten gallons I got 18.6(or was it 0.2? have to look at log book). Anyway that was a 1.2 increase on the 1st tank. I'm done w/ 2nd tank and will find out tonight when I fill up what the mpg works out to be.

The plan is to run 3 tanks for each setting and then leave it there...lol...!

I just sold my SCMT and changed to a SCT X3 with DP Tuner tunes installed in it. Its not real hard to get 20 mpg with a 2wd truck and a light skinny pedal foot. Keeping the tach under 2k is the #1 way to increase fuel millage. I have not checked my DP Tuner programed fuel millage yet.

The SCMT is aka Super Chips Micro-tuner pn# 1705. There are plenty of them FS used on e-Bay. I don't thing SC makes them anymore.
