Has anyone swapped a pcm out of one truck into another one? If so would the truck start or does the PCM, TCM and IC all have to be programmed to each other.

I’ve never seen it work before but right now I just had a customer come in for not building boost in his 2003 f350 found problems boost going into coolant but hooked computer up and turns out the ecm/pcm is from 2009 6.4 I’m am truly puzzled on how this truck even starts and drives and the only problem is the intake gasket
