Hello,
I have a 1991 Ssangyong Korando, it is a Korean copy of a CJ7, with the important difference is that it came from the factory with a Peugeot model
XD3P 2.5L 4cyl diesel.

Question is how do I install a electronic Tach on a diesel? Currently the vehicle has a mechanical tachometer.

Thanks for any help.:thinking

There are electronic senders that fit where the mechanical cable hooks up and most injection pumps have a plug that can be replaced with a sensor. Last I saw IP sensor was around $200 and the cable adapter $60. Another way is to read the alternator frequency and divide by the pulley ratio to the crank pulley. Many tachs will read a stator lead frequency with no adapters, some are analog adjustable by the user.
