Without getting into a big discussion of why, etc...
1. Can tandoms have locking diffs?
2. Does the rear tandom have 1to1 gearing and just follows the front one?
3. How difficult is it to find them with highway gearing in the high 3's low 4's?
5. Will 16 inch rims fit?
6. Can hydraulic brakes be put on them?

1. Yes, some tandem set ups are available in locking configs. Typically air actuated--not spring and disc posi -to my knowledge.
2. Front and rear R & P absolutely must be same ratio exactly to live.
3. High 3 and low 4's very common. 3.55, 3.70, 3.90, 4.11, etc,
5. 16 inch tires? I suppose with enough money spent in custom wheel adapters it would be possible.
6. Hydraulic brakes? Same answer as 5 more or less. Enough money...... Practical-probably not.

In summary, I think there are more cost effective ways to achieve your goal and I don't even know what that is.

What I want is to build a IH 1900 crew cab pickup truck.
I was thinking tandoms in the rear and amodified dt466 for power would make able to do serious towing duty if ever needed, plus it would just be cool. The tandoms are just pipe dreams.
