the stroke is out!

finally got the stroke removed it took me about 6 hours to get it out but at least it is out.. so now it is getting prepped for the cummins.

I had Mo Smoke from CompD help me build a nice PCS file for my 4R100.. I've tweeked it to my liking.

I can email it to you to try out if you want since our setups are very similar..

i took the truck out for it's first test drive to see how it shifts and all i can say is, Wow it seems alot better than the 7.3 factory set up. there are still things to do but it moves under its own power again:usflag

Sweet! Glad its working for you. I don't think any pcs tune is the same, that's what I like about it. I think I am gonna build a calibration B file too to the track this summer.

Also, did you hook up your OD cancel button? Your digital inputs are probably different than mine and may need changed
I took my truck out for a run today to get some data, and it seems to be pretty good,

engine speed 2912 rpm
fuel injection pressure 159 MPa (23061 psi)
manifold pressure 255 KPa (36.9 psi)
throttle postion 86%
ECT 87*C (189* F)
this was done unloaded and on fairly flat ground data was collected with a OTC genisys scan tool with Matco determinator software.

the only thing going on that i have not quite figured out is why both upper and lower radiator hoses keep colapsing, i will look into that later this week, but if anyone has an idea post it up..

The radiator hoses collapsing is due to air in the cooling system. When it gets cold it creates a vacuum in the coolant system and the hoses collapse due to the vacuum. You need to purge out the air.

Yep I agree!

I removed the radiator hose at the thermostat housing just enough to where I saw coolant starting to run out then pushed it back on. Leave the degas cap off
i had to take a different route because the surge tank is on the pressure side of the system but none the less it is worked out and working well.. thanks for the input...
:thinking tach is acting funny, it is about 250 rpm off from the scan tool and is jittery under 1000 rpm... i will have to look into this later though...
i made new plumbing to fill the radiator using a piece of 2" tubing, the factory 7.3 1" fill hose and a some 1" tubing

I also started to install the coolant filter but did no make the last connection because i dont want to drain the coolant again.
