Allright guys.....got a problem here. The repo truck is a 99 F250 with 480,000 miles on the ticker. Bone stock. All of a sudden, things just quit working.....

No o/d light on shifter
No cruise control
No lights for steering wheel controls

Everything just quit working at we guess the same time. When we noticed everything, it was a very short time frame. All fuses have been checked, both under the dash and under the hood.

   ANY IDEAS????????

Don't smell anything burning do you? Sounds like a bad ground that might have worked it's way loose.

Sounds to me the truck is still running, just anything that has to do with the steering wheel is gone...

Ford has them... Might have worked loose from the connector... Its under the dash... Smaller wire harness (5 wires I think) and they use a common ground.

Check the harness to see if its rubbing on anything, and check if there are any chafed spots, etc.

You might also try buying a new clock spring. Since everything in the steering wheel stopped working (cruise control and illum), I'd put my money on two failures. The clock spring and some kind of harness for the column.

I guessing Steering column also. Neighbors truck did the same thing. If the tilt wheel was used alot, the wiring can pull apart.
