I've located an original owner, 2000 F-350 XLT, 4X4, four door, dually, diesel, six speed, with 4.11 rears. Nothing ever as far as modifications and it is completely as built stock. Nothing wrong with the truck and is just not needed any longer. Every receipt of every nickel ever spent on the truck comes with it also.

Although there is virturally nothing wrong with this unit and with the exception of no gooseneck trailer hitch installed, will work for what I need it to do, I'd like to consider changing the trans. I have a very good Fuller RT-609 on my shop floor removed from a burnt LN-800 series Ford several years ago. I'm wondering what I will need to do to slip this in electrically. The Fuller uses a double disc pull type clutch, and has an SAE #2 flywheel housing. I can get the correct flywheel housing, flywheel, starter, etc. from a friend with medium duty parts. Really don't want to cut the floor up badly but don't mind modifying a slight bit and recarpeting for a factory look.

Never seeing this done before I'm wondering if I'm on the right track. I also don't know anything about any electrical interfacing between a manual trans and the engine if there is any.

Guidance?

Electrically, all you will need is speedo sender, which is in the fuller. Don't know how that works with the stock unit. I wouldn't let that stop me.If you cao get the rest of the parts as you said, go for it. My thoughts are using IHC parts from a 444. Thanks Bob, I've not been around the electronic light duty diesels at all. Mediums and heavy, certainly, (don't much care for them). I don't know if the injection rates, and timing are adjusted throughout the operational range according to gear position, rpm, and such. One of my buddy's has a 2000 with a DP tuner and the original six speed; I've driven this truck both loaded and empty and really like it. We both haul antique heavy trucks and his transmission is really too light for the task. I kept this Fuller as someone was telling me they were a common swap in the Dodge trucks? Never seen it done myself.

If it doesn't screw with the electronic operation of the engine, I can make it fit.
