you can buy all the parts at a truck supply shop,get led's,you wont go wrong there.the best thing is to run 7 wire trailer cord to the back to a junction box,then run 4 wire to the lights,use good heat shrink solder butt connectors,and use good dielectric on the light plugs at the lights.put reverse lights on the trailer,it will help you in the long run.i did this all on a boat trailer at least 5 yrs ago,havent had a light problem since.
I was hoping something would come in a nice bolt on kit as wiring and I do not get along, but I may have to go with your suggestion and build my own. As far as reverse lights, do I have to do anything special, or will they just know what to do when the trailer is plugged into the truck?
