I got a F250(see sig.) it has 4:10 gears i think(60mph @2000rpms) but when it shifts from 1st to 2nd its ever so slightly a hard shift an from 2nd to 3rd its a quick shift. Also there seems to be a leak from the front of the tranny(around a cover on the front bottom part of the tranny, though it looks an feels like motor oil. Does all of this look like i need to rebuild or what??? THANKS in advance!!!!!!!!!

Take a look in the valley of the motor and see if you see motor oil. A lot of times motor oil will ooze down the back of the motor...dripping in the area of the bell housing.

And from your description of the shifts...nothing seems out of the ordinary. If you were feeling a lot of slipping during the shifts...then I would worry.

There are some oil galley plugs that on occasion have o-rings that go bad. There are also some hpop lines that have o-rings that go bad. Those are the two most common sources I believe.
