I have a 1990 Dodge 250 4x4 automatic 46RH transmission that has twisted off the output shaft off the transmission and I can't find one anywhere nor can I find an entire transmission. Does anyone have a shaft or transmission laying around? Is there another transmission that would work in it's place without to much modification?

a 47 rh ( 1994 and 1995 ) would work i believe, same transmission but has lockup and a few internal changes to make it stronger. the adapter is about 1 " deeper as the torque converter is thicker because of lockup, i have never looked into it but your converter might fit and you would not have to change adapter and no changes would be necessary, you simply would not use lockup. when i converted mine with new adapter i simply slid the transmission back on mount, had enough play in driveline.

Did someone swap your trans?

A 90 model truck would have a 727 3 speed auto in it. The 46RH/518 did not get used till 91.5 models.
