I am posting this for someone else so my info may not be the best but I'll try to give as much info as possible.

Driving along and the truck just died like someone had reached up and turned off the key. Truck will crank but doesn't fire. Remove fuel filter lid and fuel is flowing while cranking. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I don't know the dodges real well. Ford guy but not a diesel newbie.

Ok... Here is a few thing to try...

Check For Error Codes
http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/2002 Dodge/Tips & Tricks/error codes/error_codes.htm

P0216 - Fuel Injection Pump Timing Failure

The death code of the VP44 pump. There is a few others too...

Lift Pump Diagnostics
http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/2002 Dodge/Tips & Tricks/lift pump/lift pump.htm

During the diagnostics try and check for fuel pressure. If the pressure is below 10 PSI you pump is failing.

Reprime The fuel system
http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/2002 Dodge/Tips & Tricks/prime fuel system/prime fuel system.htm

During the reprime of the fuel system check and see if there is a good amount of flow from the VP44...It should be from all injectors not just one. If not its failed.

Yeah crack your injector lines with a 19mm wrench and see if you're getting fuel at more than 1 injector, and at decent pressure. Its common for the rotors to sieze inside these injection pumps and stop delievering fuel to the injectors without throwing a code.

One thing that really sucks is if you put gas in it. i hope this isn't your problem but it might be an explanation.

Gas in a ford is worse. Or at least my experience was gas in a ford was worse than the tales I've heard of gas in a Cummins. That heui system does not like the stuff.
