So, as the title says, truck won't start. I went out to start the truck and all it will do is turn over. Batteries are fine, I am puttin the code reader on it now to see if anything is up. Any ideas?
Glow plugs?
Glow plug relay?
maybe a controller? does the Duramax have them? I know the old 6.5's had them.

Lookin for some help.
Thanks guys

P0380 and as the predator reads it, Glow Plug, Heater Circuit Malfunction.
Brings me to my next question, are there any good shop manuals on the duramax that would help pinpoint what everything is?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I think I seen the GP relay on the driver side valve cover, I might be wrong, but it looked like thats what it was.

I have been looking for info on this today. All I've found is that its probably the glowplug controller, but it COULD be a glowplug. The controller is drivers side rear, the black box.

It takes more than two bad glows to trip a SES on the Strokers, and I believe the Duramax is close to the same, if it is a bad glow plug. Hopefully it is nothing more than a GP controller, those are easier to get to. Hope you get it up and running soon.

Had to replace my controller .. It is on the driver side next to the fire wall. The relay went bad but mine still started. (Warmer weather). My new one is great but my intake heater portion of the relay went bad so i just left it. As long as my glow plugs are working it starts just fine with out the intake heater.

I was on DOOTalk.com posting this very same problem.
Some diesel shop owner suggested that the truck was out of "prime"
News to me:
He suggested that I push the primer button on top of the fuel filter rapidly and then have someone start the truck.
He predicted it would start right up.
IT did and I was surprised, so just thought I would give everyone a heads up.
Now onto the problem of either the glow plug controller or the relay.
Thanks again for everything. I love this webiste.
