Today at Hamilton Diesel I found out the true reason for needing Heavy Duty Valve springs. He has a plate that he can bolt up to the exhaust manifold and preasurize the exhaust ports. At 62 psi the valves opened. So if the head was hot we all know that the springs become a little weaker. So at around 45 to 62 psi the valves open. He then took a head with Heavy duty valve springs an did the same thing. The valves did not open the gauge was hitting 80 psi and valves were not opening.

It was just pritty cool to see the reason for needed them.

They were a set of F1 valve springs. And he said that te PDR springs were just as good. I paid 625 for my to be overnighted so he could put them on.
