looks like a pretty good kit
not to mention the cool anodizing
doesn't leave much room for a coolant filter mount which i plan on soon
but i like the bracket it uses and i can always finr another place for the coolant filter
maybe right next to it

let me know what you think
if anybody has this kit on their truck truck that would be awesome too

Honestly it looks like nothing more than a couple of Amsoil filters coupled with braided hoses and anodized stuff.

Personally...in the ad they talk about going 100k miles with a synthetic oil...but there is no way in hell I would do that...synthetic or not. Too much is dependent upon the oil. And Amsoil only recommends extended drain intervals with their filters AND their oil.

For $400 bucks...IMHO anyway...thanks but no thanks.

well, i will not be extending my oil change cause i dont drive that much
i would rather change it regularly and be on the safe side
400 is cheap insurance either way
its your opinion and i appreciate it

I have installed the Amsoil kit on a 6.0. That is the same kit; save the fuel filter cap, anodized finish, mount and $7 gauge. If you want the pretty stuff; this might be better suited to your taste.

I used a piece of 1" angle aluminum from Lowes for $6 to make my mount.

As was previously stated, that kit is no deal.

One big issue with the kit on ebay is if you run a coolant filter, you will have to move the oil filter kit. I would think that anyone who is familiar with the 6.0l would be aware of this and design it differently. I'm going with not a good deal.

See HERE

It's what I've got...
wow, this design is outstanding. the tilt allows room for the coolant filter.

also, do you leave the stock oil filter resivoir empty w/o filter? or leave a filter in there and change it as well? or does the kit compeltely eliminate the housing and just change the micron filter

that place is based out of Houston. When I get back from my hunting trip I will go down and have a talk with them about the kit. Might just have to pick one up :)

(also, do you leave the stock oil filter resivoir empty w/o filter? or leave a filter in there and change it as well?) You replace the stock filter each time you change the oil with a Ford filter. The stock filter cleans to 20 microns and the by-pass cleans it to 2 microns but the by-pass it takes 15-20 minutes to clean the oil where the stock filter cleans at a 18 gallons a minute :eek:wned

so why the **** is it called a bypass when it doesn't bypass ****. just adds an extra filter. seems like a waste to me then. not trying to spend more meaningless money.

guess coolant filter is all I need now then.

Well it is up to you but injectors need clean oil and Syn oil and there is a big difference in 2 microns and 20 microns at $250 a pop i think i will clean my oil. The injectors on a 6.0 needs 3 things (clean oil, clean fuel, fuel pressure) and i do all 3. It does by-pass it get a small amount of oil at one time that is why it take 15 min to clean all the oil you change it every third change.

ok, so you keep the factory filter and change it as regular and change the bypass filter about every 15k?

also, it doesn't look like those hoses have piviting taps, so how would I twist of the top of the oil filter cap and oil cap with out twisting the hoses? would I have to unscrew the taps every time?

That is exactly how a by-pass kit works. I have been running amsoils kit for at least three years now with now issues. You still hafta use a factory oil filter. But a small amout of oil goes into the secondary oil filter(by-pass kit) after it is first filtered by the factory filter. So after it is filtered by the factory filter, a small amount of it then goes and gets filtered by the by-pass filter, then returns into the filter tube. After the truck is running for about 10-15 minutes...that's all it takes for all the oil in the truck to be filtered by the by-pass filter. Just think if 100% of the oil went from the factory filter then to the by-pass filter...now what do you think will happen if the by-pass filter all of a sudden gets plugged? That's right, bad things....just ask Dalpilot. Now with a true by-pass kit...if the by-pass filter does for some reason gets plugged, well then at least the factory filter will still filter and still send clean oil throughout the engine.

just unhook the line to the 90* fitting on the cap, then unscrew the cap with a cresent wrench. This is how i do mine...i have the amsoil kit. the filler tube cap however does have a 90* swivel fitting...so you can unscrew the cap without unhookin the line from it. Here's a couple pics of my kit.
