First off truck is a 2000 F250 Super Cab.

Doing some research i found that the size of the opening is a Corporate Double Din.

When referenceing websites Crutchfield says nothing about any Double Din stereos fitting my truck. Whereas several other sites say that a bunch of Double Din stereos WILL fit my truck...so what is the truth? Does anyone really know?

Any help would be great. My current stock unit is starting to crap out and I'd like to replace the unit before winter hits.

Also reccomendations on Stereos would be great! I love Pioneer but their new designs with the USB port in front just don't look right to me.

Thanks for the help!

the 99-07s are NOT double din, rather they are 1.5 DIN.
you can TRIM the dash and opening to get a Dbl DIN to fit but its CUSTOM !

the 08 trucks (iirc) when to a DBL DIN opening...and if not the 08's then
certainly by '11 the went to DBL DIN

if youre willing to take a dremil to the dash of the 99-07 you can make it fit.

I'll start by letting everyone know that 2005 and newer Superdutys are double din, so no modifications needed for them, just a mounting kit.

The 99-04 Superdutys have a smaller size opening in the dash faceplate, but a double din stereo will fit in the dash, all you have to do is trim part of the dash opening a little larger with a dremel.

Here's some good info about installing a double din:

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback, the chatter about it on the Ford Trucks forums is probably the best info on the net.
