I have a 2011 F350 SW SD with the 20" wheels. As it's the 4 wheel model, not the 6 wheel model, it came with the factory 20" rims. I've seen a few F350 DW (6 wheel) trucks, with the smaller (I'm guessing 17") wheels. The front of those trucks look like they have convex front rims whereby the axel seems to extend out past the rim, giving it that convex looking shape.

Is there an advantage to having that front end ? What exactly does it do ? I know when I ordered my single wheel F350, that type of front end was not avaialble. Just wondering, if it's for syling or if it's functional.

Thanks,
Darren

It is only an opt in on the dual wheels. I know ome reason they do that is because the spare is as you call convex and could be used front or rear on a dual rear wheel truck.
