I am still trying to figure out this whole turbine housing deal.

Which would be better for all around performance, a 12cm waste gate turbine housing (found one really cheap from a 2nd gen), 14cm nom waste gate housing, or a 16cm non waste gate turbine housing?
The main disadvantage that I can see for the 12 and 14cm turbine housing is that the fact it will move the down pipe about an inch rearword, which may make it hard to have a 4" down pipe.

Or is there another option for turbo upgrades that is less then $200 that I'm missing?

I primarily drive unloaded city/highway is about 50/50. On occasion I plan on pulling a trailer weighing no more than 8-10k. And in the future I will probably trailer my Jeep out through the Rockies, which would be about the only high altitude driving I will see. I also plan on getting PODs, 3200 govenor springs, crank the pump, and atleast 4" exhaust all the way out. The PODS may be several months away still, but the rest will be done within a month more than likely. I do have guages on the way

:thanks:

turbo housing

hello ,i got a 92 d250 and had a 92 d350, when you say pods,i take it as you have a 92 or93, anyway, i got on the tdr and read all the stuff an went an bought a 16cm housing, i was not happy with that, not big deal, no seat in the pants improvement, ichanged it out for a 12 cm waste gate and welded it,skip the waste gate, you don't need it, some say your egt's get to high, i haven't found that to be true,i like and wanted the bottom end ,at 65 mph i got 8psi boost, and get 32 lbs max and egt's never over 1250, i like my 12cm and would not change it,ga is not the rookies and you mite want to keep the waste gate,i think you would like the 12cm,i got some new lucas 300 hp injectors for sale if ,pm me if your interested, enjoy , :thanks:

A 12cm housing is a good compramise in flow and spool up until about 325-350hp. Personally I like an 18.5, but I used to push alot of fuel through my 93. If you plan on nearing that hp range, keep your waste gate, just use a boost fitting. If you would like some pump modification ideas, feel free to let me know. There is more to these little VE's than alot of people give them credit for. :smoke: :smoke:

Your Better Off Looking For A 12 Waste Gated. There A Tighter Housing. There A Same Spool Rate Just Safer With The Waste Gate
