Looking for some options here before I mess the trans up. Lookin at ATS and Suncoast so far. Any thoughts???

99% of people with built trannies in the 6.4 run the suncoast........its a proven combo in the 6.4 and its what I plan on going with.

So If I just upgrade my torque converter and possibly TCM I should be able to run the 310 tunes no problem???

I have only had the truck for a few months now but have not been too hard on it. I'm just trying to get around this de-fueling issue right now, so if it's a slipping tranny hopefully a TQ should solve the majority of the issue (from the sounds of things anyway).

Your truck will not defuel from torque converter slippage.....only from internal clutch slippage. And this defuel will happen early on.....it will shift 1-2, 2-DEFUEL usually, or it can go 1-2, 2-3, 3-DEFUEL. That isn't the converter though, its the clutches slipping and a signal is sent via modules and the truck will defuel and fall on its face. If the truck is defueling on top end its fuel related, or tune related.

yeah, it's a definitely 1-2, 2-defuel. So i'd be lookin at a tranny on the way out more then likely!

Im guessing a Precision Industries torque converter is what Aaron was referring to?

How does an extreme rebuild kit and converter sounds rather than the super duty rebuild? Would the addition of the shift kit from either kit require revised tunes? I'm planning on a converter, extreme rebuild kit, and billet input so can keep stock solenoids. Sorry to high Jack

Why not just get the super duty rebuild kit??? It has quite a bit more in it for less than $400 more.

But we don't need the upgraded solenoid, and the rest of it is filtration?

Anyone in Alberta know who does good tranny work and is willing to install this stuff? As of now, I personally have tuned down to the 210 (not fun) to save the life of my trans untill I can get all this done.
Highjack was good, lots of great info and stuff to consider.....

Rene G got his rebuilt here, i beleve dirty diesel did it for him.
