The PO had a push button for the starting of the truck but used the ignition key to turn it off. There are two wires not hooked up to anything by the solenoid one is red and the other is yellow but it dont have to connector on the end maybe it came off, but what all wires go to the solenoid?

Also my truck has a toggle switch to turn on the Glow plugs what do I need to do to get it back the way its suppost to be? as in wiring wise?

I looked on my truck and the yellow wire is a fuse link that hooks to the hot (battery) side of the solenoid, the fuse link has been cut off on yours, make sure you install one (16 ga) before you hook it up. The red wire is the trigger to the solenoid it should be hooked to the small post on the solenoid, if you have two small post it will hook to the one with an S on it. The PO may have had a problem with the start system and bypassed it, if you have an automatic it could be in the neutral start switch and if a manual there is a switch on the clutch pedal.

Here's a diagram of how the GP system is wired.
