well i got fed up and actually nobody could fix my 3406b peec, not even cat. they themselves recommended to convert to mechanical. Well i took it this morning to a guy who is putting in a pump, timming advance and cover all for $2000. its a 400hp pump and i will leave it how it is and if need more power i will mess with the screws. cant wait to drive it.:knight

Really, he is replacing the whole pump, it can all be done with just the governor modification, of course if your going up in power then I understand.:rock

The only "up" in power will be the fuel settings. The pumps are the same from 310 to 460 and everything in between. The easiest is to leave the pump on the engine, and change the rack, and back housings. I'm sure the mechanic found the same static time pump to use. In a pinch, you can even use the same timing advance...just change the spool and add the mech parts. you actually have more variance of adjustment with the PEEC advance versus a mech advance. A PEEC offers twice as much advance being it has two sets of helical teeth, versus one set.

No effect on gauges at all. Just no more cruise....what a bummer

Using an Allen wrench and tape measure, usually 1/2" travel in and out is all you want, without having to watch your pyro. You can go more...just watch your heat.

Anytime you increase power, you increase fuel mileage....don't have to keep your foot in it all the time. But, there is such a thing as too much.

had a 93 pete long hood with a peec converted to mechanical. 24 degree injection pump cam, ported and polished injection pump, 525 hp stationary engine injectors, ht3b holset from Bell turbo and a few other things. ran great and would recommend it. made good mileage didnt smoke bad and would pull with any stock 600 cat and never get over 900 degrees behind turbo. fuel screw was barely turned out. hear if you run E model pistons you can turn the timing up further and run more fuel without heating. truck got wrecked before i had a chance to do it though
