How often do yall change your power steering fluid? And how do you do it.

The how to part of it is remove the low pressure side (return line) it will be the hose with a clamp the other is a pressure fitting. Get a pan and let it drain as you pour it in.

According to Dodge its every 30K miles...

So mine is done every year and I clear 25-28K miles...

I use the engine and allow the pump to flush the system out... No Synthetics here just standard ol' petroluem base...

No... But remember synthetic doesn't change the interval of change... Since the system has no filter you must change it at 30K miles regardless. Because that the only way to flush the debris out of the system. So it cost of maintenance I would say hold to petroluem. But if you got money to burn switch to synthetic.

I normally run down to WalMart and pick up SuperTec or whats cheap for power steering fluid. Knowing that my power steering is going to get flush every 30K miles (or roughly once a year).

I hear ya mopar man, I will say i do notice the difference running the synthetic fluid. I was impressed with it. Its gotta help the pump last a long time even if you change it every 30K. But like you said its all on what one person is willing to spend. IMO I just think the redline synthetic works great, more so in the winter and better pump protection.

I'm not going to knock your choice... At least your willing to do something to protect your VP44 and that ALWAYS a plus! :thumbsup
