Dont do any pulling but am currently trying to find a 1MM crank to convert a 2WS. Couple of big cats in area(5DS,7CZ), tough to beat...:bangI agree completely, after seeing the luck both Barnett and cliff lick have had trying to do so, I believe that the only feasable way to try and compete is with a very built 3406E/C15-16. It seems to me that the mechanical cats are too tempermental at high HP levels.
Welcome to the garage as well, when ya get a chance check out the truck pulling thread.:happymugs
Yes it is, and considering that even with a 15.8L cat your still giving up almost 200cid to a K series its not even funny.Dont do any pulling but am currently trying to find a 1MM crank to convert a 2WS. Couple of big cats in area(5DS,7CZ), tough to beat...:bang
Dont want to beat them, but want to stay with 'em and make them wonder how much more i have...Hard to beat cubic inches. :happymugs

I think you would be okay with your 2WS, you can make an equal amount of HP, you will just be giving up a little torque.
Well I always heard the turbo was the replacement for displacement, but.......when your competitor combines displacement and turbos(s) your pretty much screwed."There's no replacement for displacement." :nunu: and "...carry a BIG stick!"
I ran a guys Pete, he had 2 speed rears (3:36 and like a 5:26) with a pretty stout 3406E, in the big gear, coming from Reno heading east, it would get up to 95 pretty easy but I thought the ****ing mirrors where gonna fly off.According to my math, if you were running tall 24.5 rubber with 3.55 rears and had a .62 overdrive you would have to be turning 2200 rpm and that would get you about 132mph.:thumbsup
With todays 3.36s and 3.23s it is a little more realistic.
I also drove a guys KTA, and he had a gate valve in the cab, the hoses were hooked to a propane bbq tank and the air intake. You really had to watch the pyro but it would accelerate up the grapevine with 80,000.You decide who rules!!
